By using Meshk— loading the page, picking a tuning or makam, plucking a note, saving a pattern — you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree to them, the only enforcement mechanism is also the simplest one: don’t use the app.

These are the terms for using Meshk. They’re short, because there isn’t much to agree to — no account, no payment, no data sold. Just a study tool for a specific, under-documented repertoire.
By using Meshk— loading the page, picking a tuning or makam, plucking a note, saving a pattern — you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree to them, the only enforcement mechanism is also the simplest one: don’t use the app.
Meshkis meant for personal and educational reference — studying makam theory, checking a tuning, working out a pattern on your own instrument. In using it, you agree not to:
The theory, tuning, and makam content in this app is offered as a study aid, not a warranted, authoritative reference. This subject area is unusually prone to confident misinformation — including from AI tools — and every catalog entry in Resources carries its own honest confidence badge (established, attested, practice, or uncertain) rather than a blanket claim of correctness. Read that badge as part of the content, not a footnote to it.
Meshk makes no warranty, express or implied, that any given claim is correct, and disclaims liability for decisions made in reliance on it.
The theory content, catalog data, and the app itself were developed by Bastian Kuberek — credited in the footer of every page as “Developed with AI by Bastian Kuberek” — and remain Bastian Kuberek’s intellectual property. You’re welcome to reference or quote this app’s content elsewhere with attribution, the same courtesy this app extends to the sources cited on every catalog entry and resource page.
Patterns you create in the pattern editor are your own. They’re stored locally in your browser and never uploaded anywhere — see What’s stored on your device in the Privacy Policy — and Meshk claims no ownership over them.
There’s no account system and nothing to buy — so there’s also nothing to close, cancel, or dispute. If you stop using the app, there’s no subscription running in the background and no data tied to an identity that needs deleting on your behalf; anything local to your device is removed by clearing your browser’s site data.
Meshkis provided as-is, without a guarantee of uptime, continued availability, or that any given feature will keep working exactly as it does today. It’s a small, independently maintained project, not a hosted service with an uptime commitment.
These terms may change as the app changes. Since there are no accounts or emails on file to notify, an update takes effect as soon as it’s posted to this page — check back here if you want to know what’s changed.
