By using Between Frets — reading an article, following a link to meshk.app — you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree to them, the only enforcement mechanism is also the simplest one: don’t use the site.
Legal
Terms of Use
These are the terms for using Between Frets. They’re short, because there isn’t much to agree to — no account, no payment, no data sold. Just an independent research project on a specific, under-documented repertoire.
Acceptance
Acceptable use
Between Frets is meant for personal and educational reference — studying makam and dastgah theory, learning about an instrument, checking a source. In using it, you agree not to:
- scrape, mirror, or bulk-download the content for republishing elsewhere;
- attempt to disrupt the site or any infrastructure it depends on, including automated load intended to overwhelm either; or
- present this site’s content as your own original research when citing it elsewhere — attribute it, the same courtesy this site extends to the sources it cites (see Intellectual property / attribution, below).
Content accuracy disclaimer
The theory, history, and instrument content on this site is offered as a study aid, not a warranted, authoritative reference. This subject area is unusually prone to confident misinformation — including from AI tools — and every published article carries its own honest confidence badges (established, attested, practice, or uncertain) rather than a blanket claim of correctness. Read those badges as part of the content, not a footnote to it. See About for the full legend.
Between Frets makes no warranty, express or implied, that any given claim is correct, and disclaims liability for decisions made in reliance on it.
Intellectual property / attribution
The articles, structure, and design of this site were developed by Bastian Kuberek — credited in the footer of every page as “Created by Bastian Kuberek” — and remain Bastian Kuberek’s intellectual property. You’re welcome to reference or quote this site’s content elsewhere with attribution, the same courtesy this site extends to the sources cited on every article.
No accounts, no payments
There’s no account system and nothing to buy — so there’s also nothing to close, cancel, or dispute. Anything local to your device (theme choice, consent choice) is removed by clearing your browser’s site data.
Availability
Between Frets is provided as-is, without a guarantee of uptime, continued availability, or that any given page will keep working exactly as it does today. It’s a small, independently maintained project, not a hosted service with an uptime commitment.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the site changes. Since there are no accounts or emails on file to notify, an update takes effect as soon as it’s posted to this page — check back here if you want to know what’s changed.
